Take your fitness to the next level as MILO Philippines, in cooperation with Athletic Performance Enhancement Training, Inc., prepares to host the first-ever MILO NUTRI UP FITCON happening at the Globe Circuit Events Ground in Makati on April 16. Sponsored by the new MILO NUTRI UP, the 3-in-1 chocolate malt drink that gives energy for grown-ups with 50% more protein and 33% more calcium vs. the classic MILO, the FITCON or “fitness convention” gathers over 60 of the biggest names in fitness to inspire grown-ups to up their game by getting into an active and healthy lifestyle.
“Active living is all the more important today as Filipinos are becoming more conscious of their health and are constantly looking for more ways to get fit,” says Robbie de Vera, Sports Marketing Executive of MILO Philippines. “That’s why we’re excited to launch MILO NUTRI UP through MILO’s first-ever MILO NUTRI UP FITCON. The FITCON is an event where adults can try the latest trends in fitness all in one venue.”
The MILO NUTRI UP FITCON marks the official launch event of the new MILO NUTRI UP. At the whole-day fitness convention, participants can expect a jam-packed schedule where they can join non-stop fitness classes, learn the latest in fitness from experts, and enjoy exclusive discounts from fitness brands. Leading the event are #fitspiration siblings Solenn and Erwan Heussaff and renowned fitness coaches Jim and Toni Saret, who will be present to share the benefits of including MILO NUTRI UP in one’s lifestyle, and to encourage the audience to up their game at the event.
The MILO NUTRI UP FITCON is grouped into four areas, each highlighting factors that will help participants up their fitness game: UP YOUR SKILLS, UP YOUR KNOWLEDGE, UP YOUR NUTRITION, and UP YOUR LIFESTYLE.
In the UP YOUR SKILLS area, participants can join practical sessions where they can learn the latest workout trends such as Crossfit, HIIT, MMA, Yoga, Zumba, BodyJam, BodyCombat, , and challenges where they will be pushed to their physical limits.
The area will also be hosting Under Armour’s Rule Yourself Challenge. This challenge subjects participants to different callisthenic exercises that will test their strength, endurance, and determination. They will go head to head against their peers to see who comes out on top. Winners of the challenge will receive special prizes from Under Armour and a chance to represent the country in the 2016 Test of Will Challenge Southeast Asian competition in Singapore.
In the UP YOUR FITNESS KNOWLEDGE area, participants can learn and gauge their overall fitness with the help of guest speakers from the fitness community. One of the main highlights of this area is Fitness First’s BioScore assessment test, where participants are subjected to a series of health, lifestyle, and physical fitness examinations to determine how old they are biologically compared to their actual age. The test also determines what areas they need to work on so they can improve their overall fitness.
The area will also feature smart and scientific training for triathlon led by Don Velasco, the first Ironman Certified Coach in the Philippines. Participants can learn about the benefits of custom-based training such as lactate testing, which determines an athlete’s training or racing zones based on lactate concentration levels, and dynamic bike fitting, which gives athlete’s an idea on what bike they should get based on their flexibility, core strength, and pre-existing injuries.
The UP YOUR NUTRITION area shares nutrition tips and samples from partner restaurants, diet delivery services, and health stores like Fit Kitchen, Nestle Fruit Selection Yogurt, and Nutrition Depot. This aims to upgrade the participants’ food choices so they can live a healthier lifestyle every day.
The UP YOUR LIFESTYLE area provides big discounts from fitness brands like Ensayo Gym Equipment, Toby’s Sports, Reebok and more. Participants can expect to find the latest fitness gear and apparel at special prices exclusively offered at the MILO NUTRI UP FITCON.
“The MILO NUTRI UP FITCON aims to connect participants to various fitness organizations so they can discover and learn from the experts and become part of the growing fitness community in the Philippines,” says Robbie. “It also challenges adults to aim for a more active and healthier lifestyle and become champions in their own right now that the game has gotten bigger.”
