Herbalife, one of the premiere nutrition companies in the world, has been in the Philippines for more than 20 years. Famous for its Formula 1 Nutritional Shake Mix, Herbal Aloe Concentrate, and Herbal Concentrate tea mix among others, its products are proven to help not just in weight management but also in overall wellness. I myself tried its starter program in our office’s nutrition club. Aside from being provided a meal plan, I have also been advised to exercise at least 30 minutes a day. I lost 6 pounds in 3 weeks, coupled with reduced fat and cholesterol levels.
Herbalife’s mission has been to spread its message to the world: that fitness entails both healthy eating and regular exercise. As such, aside from developing its core business by scientifically creating products that address nutritional needs, it also supports fun physical activities for both its nutrition clubs and its wellness tour.
What better way to promote this message than athletes — who embody what holistic fitness truly means. Herbalife has sponsored more than 190 professional athletes internationally, but a press conference last April 18 brings exciting news for the Philippines: Herbalife was announced as PBA’s official nutrition partner.
Held at Parmigiano in Resorts World Manila and attended by Herbalife’s top management as well as PBA players Terrence Romeo, Alex Nuyles, and Mark Cardona, the event marks the first time Herbalife has had a partnership of this scale in the country — and the first time PBA has given the said title to a corporate partner. Both acknowledging the importance of good nutrition for athletes to reach their maximum performance level, the partnership would help interested athletes reach their fitness goals through the use of Herbalife’s products and the supervision and support of its nutrition experts.
Herbalife hopes that its deal with PBA will bring awareness on the importance of good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle to more Filipinos, given the popularity of basketball in the Philippines. It is also open to expanding its reach to other Filipino sports clubs and athletes in the future.
